At a high-level dialogue in Dakar on March 12, government officials, media representatives, and business leaders from China and Senegal gathered for the “China in Springtime – Sharing Opportunities with the World” global dialogue. The event, sponsored by China Media Group (CMG), aimed to promote stronger China-Africa cooperation in support of modernization and high-quality development in Africa.

During the dialogue, participants delved into discussions on China’s development experience and the potential for cooperation with Africa in trade, technology, and culture. The University of Dakar’s students also had the chance to engage with the guests and ask questions on topics such as China’s technological innovation and its global impact.

In a video keynote speech, Shen Haixiong, President and Editor-in-Chief of China Media Group (CMG), emphasized the importance of China’s role in global prosperity. He reminded the audience that China’s development is closely linked to the world, and for global challenges to be tackled effectively, cooperation and open sharing of resources are necessary.

Shen also highlighted the need for “open-source sharing” and win-win cooperation among countries, rather than “closed operations.” He stressed that no single nation can solve global issues alone, and it is only through working together that meaningful progress can be achieved.

The dialogue provided a valuable platform for Chinese and Senegalese officials to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and promote mutual development. Through initiatives like the “China in Springtime” global dialogue, China is continuing its efforts to foster strong partnerships and promote global prosperity
