Senegal: Senegal’s President Faye Commits to Process Raw Materials

During an interview at the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Saudi Arabia, Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye expressed his commitment to boosting the country’s economy through local manufacturing of raw materials. The event was aimed at promoting investment in participating countries.

President Faye highlighted the importance of prioritizing the transformation of raw materials within Senegal’s borders before exporting them. This, he believes, will lead to a more balanced trade and boost the country’s overall growth.

When asked about the main priorities of Vision 2050, the long-term development plan for Senegal, President Faye emphasized the need for promoting and investing in local manufacturing. This, he believes, will not only create jobs but also add value to the country’s natural resources.

Under President Faye’s leadership, Senegal is seeking to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on imports. The government has implemented various initiatives to support and encourage local manufacturing, with the ultimate goal of improving the country’s economic outlook
