The Republic of Rwanda has been selected by CICES to be the guest of honor at the 32nd edition of the International Fair of Dakar. This invitation was warmly received by the Rwandan authorities.On Tuesday, a delegation from CICES led by Director General Salihou Keita visited the Rwandan Embassy in Dakar. During this courtesy visit, Jean Pierre Karabaranga expressed the Rwandan government’s satisfaction in accepting this honor. This is seen as a new way to strengthen bilateral cooperation.His Excellency affirmed that competent authorities will work together to ensure a better participation of Rwanda in Fidak 2024, showcasing the country’s commercial, tourist, and cultural achievements 30 years after the genocide. The selection of Rwanda as the guest of honor for the 32nd Fidak is explained by the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, and also aligns with the South-South cooperation goals of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.A meeting with the competent authorities in Kigali is scheduled to take place soon in order to gather information and discuss details. The 32nd edition of the International Fair of Dakar will be held from November 28 to December 15, 2024 at CICES, under the theme “economic events in service of tourism promotion.”In conclusion, this selection of Rwanda as the guest of honor at Fidak 2024 is seen as a way to further strengthen the relations between the two countries and promote commercial and cultural exchanges.
