Distance learning: The recommendations of Minister Abdourahmane Diouf –

According to Senegal’s new Minister of Higher Education, the Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University should not be the only one to offer distance learning. He believes that every university in the country should have a larger dimension of distance learning to solve the problem of guidance for new baccalaureate holders who often wait months before being able to enrol in university. Although UCAD has already made efforts in this direction, the supervisory authority believes that all universities should experience an increase in the field of distance learning. According to the minister, this would reduce the large quota of students referred to UNCHK each year. The article concludes by pointing out that thanks to the evolution of mentalities, distance learning is no longer stigmatized and is increasingly accepted by students, administrative staff and teacher-researchers. This approach would thus make it possible to quickly solve the problem of student orientation and to better manage the influx of students in universities
