On Thursday, September 21st, I had the distinguished honor of presiding over the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, under the theme “Restoring Trust and Reviving Hope”. This event was marked by a great speech from President Macky Sall, which once again showcased the prowess of Senegal’s diplomacy.The theme of this year’s General Assembly session is one that resonates deeply with the current global climate. With increasing political tensions, economic instability, and humanitarian crises, the need for trust and hope is more crucial than ever before. As the world’s top leaders gathered at the UN headquarters in New York, it was clear that this session would be a crucial one in addressing these pressing challenges.In his speech, President Sall emphasized the importance of multilateralism and cooperation in restoring trust and reviving hope.
